André Rieu

Since the mid-1990s, Rieu has travelled around the globe with his "Johann Strauss Orchestra" (approx. 60 musicians). In addition to concerts on tour, Rieu usually produces specials with different pop stars, which can be seen on television or available on DVD. With his orchestra André Rieu stages classical pieces through presentation and show effects in a popular way and thus reaches a very wide audience. With 554,242 tickets sold and a turnover of 57.4 million US dollars in the first half of 2009, André Rieu was number 4 on the hit list of best-selling concert tours in that period.
