Infos zu Papa Roach

It's 1993 and the four boys Jacoby Shaddix, Jerry Horton, Will James and Dave Buckners are not only putting their heads together but also their instruments in a high school in Vacaville, California. The result is the Nu-Metall and Rock project Papa Roach. Only three years after their foundation, the four ambitious musicians set to work on their debut album and the demo tape Old Friends from Young Years was released in 1997.

Meanwhile Papa Roach manages to gain local fame and performs in Vacaville as supporting bands for the music greats Deftones, Fu Manchu and Suicidal Tendencies. During this phase, bassist Will James decided against a possible career as a musician, and Tobin Esperance took the strings for him from then on. After further releases Papa Roach managed to get a record deal with a major with the EP Let 'em Know at DreamWorks Records.

The musicians from Sunshine State, California, then took the whole big stage with their album Infest. The 2nd studio album, released on April 25, 2000, became the commercially most successful album of the four US rockers so far. Songs like "Last Resort" and "Broken Home" became classics and the soundtrack of an era. Since then Papa Roach have never allowed themselves to be stylistically defined: Their current and now tenth work "Who Do You Trust?" shows the band around singer Jacoby Shaddix and guitarist Jerry Horton once again from their multi-faceted side: whether hard rocking, impudently catchy, experimentally daring or even electronic. Fans of Papa Roach will also be able to discover new sides to Shaddix and Co. with this album and despite their career of more than 20 years.
