Shindy

Shindy, born Michael Schindler, grew up in Bietigheim-Bissingen, Baden-Württemberg, near the state capital Stuttgart. The son of a German father and a Greek mother, he spent his childhood playing soccer like many of his peers. The southern German first came into contact with rap at the tender age of eleven. Three years later, the "Up In Smoke" tour video by hip-hop greats Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and Eminem sparked his own career. Afterwards, his decision was made: Michael Schindler wanted to become a big player in the hip-hop and rap business himself.

After releasing his own free tracks, Kay One takes on the Baden-Württemberg native. As part of Kay's Crime Payz crew, a conglomeration of rappers and singers who chillax together, the budding hiphoper comes into contact with Berlin rapper Bushido. And he gives him the stage to present himself to a larger hiphop public with two features on his 2nd solo album Prince of Blevedaire. 

Shindy's debut album NWA, released in 2013, is then accompanied by a media-rich beef with Kay One. This was preceded by a diss track in which Shindy expressed his pent-up displeasure with Kay One and his stepfather and manager in a wordy and sweary manner. Just one year later, the follow-up, Fuck Bitches Get Money, was released. For the first time, the southern German succeeds with this album the jump to No. 1 in the LP charts in the DACH region. And albums three and four, Dreams and Drama, continue Shindy's series of successes and manage to place at least at number one in the LP charts in the DACH region.
