Infos zu The Black Crowes

If you follow in the footsteps of The Black Crowes, you go on a journey back in time to the past millennium. In 1990, the two brothers Chris and Rich Robinson, who form the core of The Black Crowes, laid the foundation for a short but wild and successful career with their first album Shake Your Money Maker. Musically, the roots of the two musicians go back even further: because the 70's have done it to the two rock'n'rollers. And you could hear that until today.

With their debut album also comes the meteoric rise. The Black Crowes won their audience as warm-up acts for bands like ZZ Top, Aerosmith and Heart. As a reward, their debut album went platinum.

The success of the two, who came along like Nitro and Glycerin, continued with their second LP. The Southern Harmony And Musical Companion even made it to the top of the U.S. LP charts right away. But the meteoric rise came to a halt after the two albums. Reshuffling of the band members and various label changes also left their mark on the successors. With Amorica (1995) and Three Snakes And One Charm (1996), The Black Crowes were unable to match the success of their first two albums. The record By Your Side (1999) collects praise from many critics, but record company Sony is not particularly impressed by the benevolent critics' gusto. Instead, they split up shortly thereafter. In 2001 the new label V2 releases the long player Lions. But the record flopped and a short time later they split up with V2. This was followed by changeable years in which the band underwent changes and the two Robinson brothers tried out their own projects.

30 years after their first album Shake Your Money Maker, the two got together again and returned to the snotty rock'n'roll of their early years.
