Infos zu Lenny Kravitz

Lenny was born on 26 May 1964 in Brooklyn and was already an ambitious musician in a romper suit. His parents, father (Sy Kravitz) and mother (Roxie Roker) encouraged his talent and often took him to concerts. In 1974 the family moved to Los Angeles, whereupon Lenny applied for the "California Boys Choir" and was promptly taken. After high school Lenny moves back to his hometown together with his girlfriend Lisa Bonet. Together with Henry Hirsch he worked out songs that later appeared on the debut album "Let Love Rule". The record is a complete success despite the ridicule and mockery of the critics.

The following album "Mama Said" revolves exclusively around his now ex-wife Lisa Bonet and is also a complete success. With the release of "Are You Gonna Go My Way" comes also the media fame. The records "Circus" and "5" followed. With the latter Lenny released an extensive work in which he experimented with electronic gimmicks for the first time.

His sixth studio album "Lenny" is no longer able to top his way to the top. However, this doesn't seem to bother the Grammy jury, as he can now take home the gramophone statue for the fourth time for the simple "Dig In".
